06/28/2020 - Ed Henderson, Rick Henderson's father, was in hospice care at Longwood, near Orlando, Florida. Born Oct 8,1923, he passed away on June 25, 2020 at the age of 97. Ed was a veteran of WW-2, the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict. Most of his military service was as a pilot of an EC-121 early warning aircraft. He was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and his wife predeceased him in 2004. He is survived by his four children, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Ed was a life long model railroad fan. He joined CSME after several years of visiting since his first visit in December 2001 when it was 27 degrees outside. His only regret was that he did not join sooner. The photo of him was taken on his first run as a new engineer; it was on his 90th birthday. When the Depot construction was being planned, he donated the money to enlarge it from the planned 1,200 square feet to the current 1,500 square feet. In a private ceremony, his ashes will be spread combined with his wife's in North Carolina this coming fall season. There will be no public service. | |

09/20/2019 - Sequatchie County has been placed under a "burn ban" effective 09/20/2019. No date has been placed for when this ban will be lifted. ALL COAL AND OIL FIRED ENGINES are not permitted to run while the "burn ban" is in effect. Propane fired engines can still run. This also means no burning in the pits at Cumberland, Saddleback, and Eagle Point. Signs will be posted at the depot and the roundhouse. This can pose an issue going into our busy Fall Meet.
