Visiting Eagle Point Railroad
The Eagle Point Railroad is a private facility. Therefore, outside of scheduled meets, non-members must submit a visit request and receive an acknowledgement from the Chattanooga Society of Model Engineers or the property owner before coming to the Eagle Point Railroad.
Visitor Information
Arrival When you arrive at the Eagle Point Railroad, before you unload and / or set up, we ask that you go to the Depot to sign the waiver required by the club's insurance and the property owner. If you plan to operate a train, you must take the "open book" engineers test. You can also use this opportunity to gather additional information and get answers to any questions you might have.
Unloading / Loading There are 3 places to unload locomotives and rolling stock:

(1) This unloader is located in the main parking lot. It is a drive through facility with an adjustable height 17' 08" long transfer table. Several vehicles can be handled simultaneously. The transfer table feeds an elevated service track and two tracks leading to the railroad. This facility is particularly beneficial for diesels, electrics, and rolling stock. Engines and rolling stock need to be moved to Cowan Yard or Eagle Point Yard.

(2) This unloader is on the south side of the parking lot. There are two positions for vehicles in front of the 8' long transfer table with a hydraulic lift. The single track feeds both the steaming bays and the Eagle Point Yard.

(3) This single track facility uses a ramp to bring a steam engine directly to the turntable and roundhouse.

Steaming Bays There are 9 steaming bays up to 20' long equipped with water, electricity, and air.
Maintenance Shed There is a covered service track located next to the Eagle Point Yard equipped with an overhead lift, electricity, and lights.
Service Tracks There are two elevated Service tracks, one at Number 1 Transfer Table, and one at Cowan Yard.
Charging There is power at Eagle Point Yard and Cowan Yard for charging electric locomotives.
Steam Water Water for steam engines is at the Eagle Point steaming bays and yards, Saddleback, Cumberland, Daus, and Coalmont.
Depot The Depot has a kitchen equipped with a stove / oven, two microwaves, a convection oven, a refrigerator with limited storage, tables for indoor eating and two flush toilets. In the basement, there are two rooms for sleeping - first come, first serve. You need to bring your own cot and supplies. In the nearby Shop Building, there is a toilet and shower. CSME gratefully accepts donations to help offset the cost of operating this facility.
Parking Please check at the Depot for current parking instructions. Also, please be respectful of the limited parking facilities by parking as near to the neighboring vehicle as is practical.
